This game lets you try on the role of a Supernatural Newspaper Agency boss and editor. The world it takes place in is a dark and haunted one, with ghosts, zombies, monsters and even shapeshifting serial murderers, pretending to be human after they have stolen their victims' bodies or infiltrated the humanity. It was inspired heavily by the works of H.P.Lovecraft and it builds on the atmosphere of uncertainty and noir of the 1940s.
Send your sextet of weathered journalists, detectives and occult specialists to investigate murder, affair, and horror in the Town.
Each time, the story will be different. The cases are procedurally generated, implementing an experimental Storyteller AI.
You are Terry Winter, the private investigator, and there's yet another client with a corpse on their hands, sitting and waiting for you in your office. Your goal? Find out who "did it" and arrest the culprit, without spending too much, and before they manage to flee abroad.
The first chapter teaches the player some basic interactions: interview witnesses, seek for clues and forensic samples in suspects' homes and offices, and how to compare them.
The second chapter introduces time passing, rounds and days, as well as the detective's everyday methods and risks of breaking into the suspects' property.
The last chapter offers the closing course. This is the real detective work, where the murderer can only be discovered indirectly through clues and evidence.
The forces of darkness and corruption have gathered and made their first attack on our fragile world. Three Overlords command the armies of the Undead, the Soulless and the Foul, and when the war is over, the Land will be shrouded in eternal frost and night.
To prevent that, Three Heroes were chosen according to the stars and the signs on the sky. They were offered three gifts, which they gladly accepted: The Bag of The Stork that was used to bring the world from its place of birth and may contain anything and everything, the Telltale Map that remembers everything it sees and hears, and the Eye of Banishment that will send any corrupt soul within its sight to the voids beyond creation.
The task for the Three Heroes is not an easy one, and they will need all the help they can muster in finding out who the Overlords are, and by what means they may be defeated.
You will engage hostage or refugee rescue operations, reclaim ships or installations occupied by raiders, mutineers, pirates or alien organisms, and other government-sponsored missions.
Your expertise is combat and elimination, but also maintenance, salvage, infiltration and rescue. You will have to manipulate your environment to your advantage, but also maintain it to guarantee your survival and success.
Because, in space, the environment and even your own technology can turn out to be as deadly and hostile as any space pirate or parasitic xenoform.
Omar, who is the main hero of the game, wakes up in the zombie-infested town of Oysterville. Your goal, as a player, is to help Omar survive for as long as possible by exploring the town, looting its (hopefully) deserted buildings for food and seeking shelter over night. At the same time, you have to keep the zombies at bay, using an arsenal of contemporary weapons such as shotguns, thompson machine guns and grenades.
If you want to save Omar, you need to find the last remaining rescue chopper hidden somewhere in Oysterville. Hacking into government computers might clue you in on its whereabouts, but beware, such an intensive task demands from you to sacrifice some of the precious Training Points that Omar has gained by increasing his level of expertise. Also, the info you find may be old news or only half useful.
The ancient forces of darkness and evil are rising, yet again to overcome our world and rule it for all the eternities. So far, the monsters and phantasms had been lurking in shadows and basements, but soon, the tide will overflow.
You are one of the few who posess the knowledge and awareness, while the majority is still being kept in the dark. As an agent of the Society your task is to protect the general population from evil for as long as that is still possible, holding the monsters at bay while collecting evidence and intelligence, and solving the mysteries that veil the coming of the Elder Gods.
Cooperative multiplayer combat. Geolocation (GPS or network) powered.
